Disney nombra a Karandeep Anand como su primer Chief Technology Officer

Ciudad de Mexico, 18 de septiembre de 2026.- Disney ha contratado a Karandeep Anand como su primer chief technology officer (CTO), un movimiento que busca fortalecer sus capacidades en inteligencia artificial generativa y conectar mejor sus experiencias digitales.
Anand también se desempeñará como senior executive VP y reportará directamente al CEO de Disney, Josh D'Amaro. En su nuevo rol, supervisará la tecnología empresarial, infraestructura, datos y plataformas de IA, así como producto e ingeniería en los equipos de tecnología de segmento del estudio.
La llegada de Anand ocurre mientras D'Amaro, desde que tomó las riendas de la compañía, ha buscado crear una experiencia de usuario más conectada, con Disney+ como pieza central digital. "Karandeep brings a rare mix of experience across infrastructure, consumer technology and AI, and will be a vital addition to Disney's senior leadership team as we further our three priorities: great storytelling as our North Star, technology in service of creativity, and operating as One Disney", señaló D'Amaro.
El ejecutivo agregó que Anand es un "expert builder and strategist, technical and product-minded, with sharp instincts for what fans actually want. He also has real enthusiasm and respect for Disney, a clear sense of where technology and creativity meet, and shares our belief that technology creates the most value when it helps people do their best work".
Anand llega a Disney después de fungir como CEO de Character.AI. Un número del equipo técnico de dicha empresa seguirá a Anand a Disney a partir del 2 de octubre. Previamente, completó etapas ejecutivas senior en la empresa de tecnología financiera Brex, en Facebook (Meta) y en Microsoft, donde trabajó durante 15 años y fue parte del equipo que construyó la plataforma Azure.

Anand posee un título en Ciencias de la Computación del International Institute of Information Technology en Hyderabad, India.
