Lego unveils Star Wars, Pokémon, Star Trek and Shrek sets at Comic-Con 2026

San Diego, 23 de julio de 2026.- San Diego, July 23, 2026.- Lego has established one of the large booths at San Diego Comic-Con, occupying a massive footprint in the center of the San Diego Convention Center. According to Borys Kit, the company is doubling down on its Lego Smart Play initiative, which blends physical play with responsive technology to create an interactive and immersive destination themed around Pokémon and Star Wars.

For the Star Wars installation, titled 'Destination: Mos Eisley,' fans are taken to a recreation of the famous Creature Cantina using large-scale Lego brick environments designed for photography. Attendees can go on stage for a remix of the Cantina Song, slide into the famous booth for a face-to-face encounter with Greedo, and visit a Dewback Petting Zoo to take photos with a purring, sleeping Dewback.

The Pokémon experience recreates the Pokémon Laboratory with scale Lego bricks and is populated by life-sized Pokémon constructions powered by Smart Play. This area includes Poké Balls and a game called 'Hide and Pikachu.'

The company is also showing off publicly, for the first time, its upcoming sets for Star Trek, Donkey Kong and Shrek. One of the major unveiled items is the Lego Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge, coinciding with the show's 60th anniversary. Borys Kit noted that this set will be available exclusively at Lego stores and LEGO.com beginning Sept. 1. Additionally, a brick-built Captain's Chair made out of 83,568 bricks is on display at the neighboring Marriott Marquis, and a panel titled 'Star Trek: The Collector Frontier' is scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. in Room 5AB with Lego set designers Henrik Andersen and Crystal Marie Fontan.

In the video game category, Lego continues its silo with a Donkey Kong Arcade, a collectible set of 1,367 pieces featuring Donkey Kong and Lady, along with details of the scaffolding, ladder and hammer from the original Nintendo game. This set will be available on Aug. 1. Meanwhile, Lego is showcasing 12 minifigures from the Shrek franchise as it gears up for new Shrek sets in 2027; these minifigures will arrive in stores on Sept. 1.
